Today I signed up to 10:10November 26, 2009
Today I signed up to the 10:10 campaign to show my commitment to cut my personal carbon use. Like most people, there is a lot I can do to cut carbon use – I’m a bit lazy about turning the houselights off, I can’t always be bothered to recycle all I could do (though I seem to have bags of newspapers!), I drive as little as I can get away with but I keep Easyjet in business and I too often throw away food that I haven’t managed to eat…. so I have a few things on my action list. But the key to this is not just to sign up but to encourage others to sign up too and to use our influence at work, in our communities and with our friends. And to make sure that cutting carbon use is high up on the political agenda. The Labour government has really led the way in implementing practical strategies around energy efficiency for homes and in cutting CO2 emissions and introducing the first carbon budgets. But this isn’t just a job for government – we all have a personal responsibility and a contribution we can make to limit wasteful carbon consumption – so join me and sign up today to 10:10 by clicking here |
